Description

This is a group of three terraced houses and a shop, located at 95, 96, and 97 London Road in King’s Lynn. The property was likely built around 1825, and originally comprised a shop and flat at number 95, with the other two properties as residential. The building is constructed of brown brick with a slate roof. It is three storeys high, with each house spanning three bays. The shopfront at number 95 is positioned on the right-hand side. Each house features a panelled front door with a large circular window, panelled reveals to the door surround, and composite pilasters. The doors are topped with curvilinear fanlights set within flat hoods. The windows are sash windows with glazing bars, each with a gauged skewback arch above. A stuccoed string course decorated with palmette and acanthus leaves runs along the first floor. Numbers 96 and 97 have a moulded timber eaves cornice. The roof is hipped over numbers 96 and 97, with a gable to the south return of number 95. There are two gable-end stacks on the south gable of number 95, another stack at the division between the properties, and a third stack on the rear roof slope between numbers 96 and 97.
