Description
This is a pair of houses located at 23 and 24 London Road in King's Lynn, built around 1825, as indicated by an 1830 map. They are constructed of red brick with a brown brick facade and feature a slate roof. The buildings rise three storeys above a basement, with each house having two bays, separated by a blind window bay on each floor. The basement includes one sash window with glazing bars, set beneath a gauged skewback arch.
Steps lead up to the main doors, which are positioned at either end of the elevation and are framed by a wrought-iron balustrade featuring stick balusters and a ramped, wreathed handrail. The doors are panelled and set within panelled reveals, topped with plain fanlights. Originally, the doors had pedimented hoods. The windows are all sashes with glazing bars and gauged skewback arches, with most being mid-19th century replacements, except for those on the ground and first floors of No. 24. The roof is hipped and includes a large central chimney stack.
