Description

The Lighthouse, built in 1887 by H.D. Arnott for the Port and Haven Commissioners, is a Grade II listed structure located on Quay Road in Great Yarmouth. It is constructed of red brick laid in header bond and has a circular plan that tapers as it rises. The east side features a plank door beneath a hood with label stops. There are three centre-hung iron windows on both the east and west sides, each also under hoods with label stops. Below the gallery, there are three additional centre-hung iron windows. The gallery itself is supported by scrolled iron brackets, and the glazed lamp stage is topped with a conical metal hood. Inside, there is a concrete winder staircase.
