Description

This house dates to around 1840 and is constructed of red brick with a slate roof. It is a two-storey, three-window range building. The central entrance has a six-panelled and fielded door, with the upper two panels glazed in the 20th century, and a plain overlight. Either side of the door are ground-floor windows with two-over-two sashes, each with a gauged skewback arch, the left-hand window featuring horns. The first floor has matching sashes above, with a timber canted bay window in the centre. This bay window has three 20th-century two-over-two horned sashes and supports fluted cast-iron columns with splayed bases and capitals decorated with a stylised waterleaf design. A timber eaves cornice sits below a hipped roof, and brick stacks are located on the wall plane to the north and south. A south-facing arched doorway provides access to a side passage leading to the rear of the property. The rear elevation includes a full-height gabled projection. The interior was not inspected during the listing process. The building has group value.
