Description
The gate piers and flanking wall, built in the mid- to late 18th century, have walls that were rebuilt in the late 20th century.
The two square gate piers are made of red brick and topped with carved Coade stone finials on plain stone bases. The finials are bulbous urns decorated with vine-trail designs. The flanking walls are also made of red brick laid in English bond and feature shallow stone coping; these walls were reconstructed in the late 20th century. The rear (south-west) side of the north pier still shows 18th-century brickwork. The flanking walls connect to the north block of Swaffham Sixth Form Centre to the south-east, which is a Grade II listed building, and to the brick screen wall and garden entrance of Oakleigh House to the north-west, which is a Grade II* listed building.
