Description
Thatch Cottage is a cottage that likely dates from the 17th century and has seen later alterations. It features a rendered timber frame with a later brick gable-end and outshuts, topped with thatched roofs. The building has a T-shaped plan and consists of one storey with an attic. The facade includes a central modern panelled door set beneath a rustic gabled porch, with a pair of 3-light windows featuring metal casements on either side. The south gable-end, which is from the 18th or 19th century, has one sash window with glazing bars beneath a skewback arch, along with a 2-light casement window beneath a skewback arch in the gable. There is a gabled rear wing with late 20th-century windows, a slightly off-centre axial stack, and later lean-tos added to the side and rear.
