Description
Field Barn Cottages is a pair of estate cottages built around 1850. They are constructed from coursed clunch with keyed gault brick dressings and feature slate roofs. The main block is rectangular with slightly lower and recessed side wings, standing two storeys tall. The symmetrical facade consists of four bays with 2- and 3-light casement windows that have glazing bars, all set beneath skewback arches on the main block. There are a pair of boarded doors located in the central bays. The side wings each have a single bay with blind 2-light windows that have arched frames in a Gothic style. The side wings are topped with hipped roofs. The building has a central axial stack with a pair of angled shafts, along with two rear wall stacks, each featuring three angled shafts.
