Description
The Baptist Chapel, now disused, is a late 18th-century building with a rear extension added in 1807. It is constructed of flint with gault brick dressings on the facade and red brick dressings on the returns, while the rear addition is made of brick. The roof is covered with black glazed pantiles. The chapel has two storeys and is arranged in three bays. It features a gabled porch supported by kneelers, which has a dentilled cornice and contains a door with a round arch and a semi-circular over-light. The windows are segmental-headed sash windows with glazing bars and brick surrounds, and the returns are similar in style.
Inside, there is a panelled gallery on three sides supported by square pilasters, which is accessed by stairs on either side of the entrance. The aisle seating has panelled bench ends, and the rostrum is approached by two flights of steps that flank a total immersion pool.
