Description

Little Palgrave Hall is a farmhouse dating from the 17th century, with a facade that was refurbished in the 18th century and further altered in the early 19th century. The building features a brick facade, with flint, brick, and re-used ashlar gable-ends, topped by black and red pantile roofs. It stands two storeys high with an attic and has a symmetrical facade consisting of three bays of sash windows with glazing bars, set beneath segmental arches. The ground floor windows were formerly much wider.

A central recessed porch made of stucco is supported by a pair of square columns in antis and features a plain entablature. Above the porch are two narrow sash windows. The central gabled dormer has stone coping and a sash window beneath a semicircular relieving arch. The 17th-century gable-ends have been rebuilt in brick, with the western gable-end displaying four sash windows and some evidence of the original first-floor opening.

To the east gable-end, there is a 19th-century single-storeyed canted bay with two sash windows above. The building contains considerable quantities of re-used limestone ashlar, likely sourced from Castle Acre priory. Both gables are adorned with stone copings and decorative peak finials. At the rear wall, there are two stacks, and the property includes 18th and 19th-century service extensions. Inside, there is a 19th-century staircase featuring turned balusters, an open string, and a swept mahogany handrail.
