Description
Billingford Lodge is a house dating from the 18th and 19th centuries. It features colourwashed brick and black pantile roofs, and it was likely originally built in an L shape, with several later additions. The building has two storeys and an entrance facade that consists of three bays, with a later projecting fourth bay. The ground floor has sash windows with glazing bars set beneath skewback arches, although one of the ground floor windows has been blocked. The front door is located in the northern bay of the original facade and is framed by a fine doorcase with Doric pilasters and a flat hood that includes guttae boards. The door is set in a canted recess, which has arched glazed upper panels and a shallow rectangular fanlight. The added bay features plate glass sash windows, and the ground floor has a large tripartite sash window beneath a skewback arch with a slightly cambered soffit. The building is topped with a sawtooth cornice.
