Description
The Church of St Peter is a parish church that dates from the medieval period and later. It is constructed of flint with ashlar dressings and features some brick repairs. The roof is covered with pantiles. The nave and chancel form a single rectangular structure, with a diagonal buttress to the east and another buttress at the north-west angle. The west side has flint quoins and a twin bellcote on the gable. There are doorways on the north and south sides, each with two plain chamfered orders and former hood moulds. The south wall contains two double lancets (one of which is modern) and two late Medieval windows with square heads and hood moulds, one featuring cusped lights. A similar single cusped window is located on the north side, while the east window consists of three lancets. Inside, there is a late Medieval chancel screen and a 17th-century pulpit adorned with strapwork and scrolled brackets. Some carved 17th-century panelling has been incorporated into the pews.
