Description
The gates and gate piers at the east end of Church Walk were originally erected in 1902 and are made of cast iron. The gate piers are square and feature raised and fielded rectangular and diamond studs below a cornice plate, which is inscribed with 'Walsingham' on the left pier and '1902' on the right pier. Each pier is topped with a square ball and steeple finial, supported by four small crockets, and stands on semi-circular decorated squinches. The fence on either side of the arcaded square section has verticals with a bottom rail and is topped with small ball finials. The gates, designed similarly, were made in 1999 and rehung in 2002, replacing the original gates.
