Description
The former stables, coach house, and attached gate posts date from the early 19th century. They are constructed of gault brick with slate roofs, while the rear walls are made of red brick. The buildings are arranged in three blocks symmetrically around an open-sided courtyard.
The east block served as the former stables and features a three-centred central archway flanked by two pairs of windows with glazing bars, all beneath skewback arches with cambered soffits. The south block is slightly taller and includes one segmental archway, one window with glazing bars beneath a skewback arch with a cambered soffit, and one doorway. The west block has three three-centred archways with raised stone keystones and two-leaf boarded doors. It also has a boarded door and a two-light casement window beneath skewback arches with cambered soffits on the side. All blocks have hipped roofs.
Additionally, there is a gateway attached to the north side of the west block, featuring brick piers with an ashlar cornice and ball finials. This structure is included for its group value.
