Description
The Church of Saint Mary is a Grade II* listed building located on the east side of Shephall Green. It is constructed of flint rubble, dressed with stone and red brick, and dates from the mid-14th century. The church was enlarged and restored in 1865 and features a nave, chancel, north aisle, and a west bellcote. Notable architectural features include unusual arched roof trusses in both the nave and chancel. Inside, there is a 15th-century rood screen and six wall monuments dedicated to the Nodes family, dating from 1695 to 1761, as well as two brasses from 1564 and 1582.
