Description
No. 68 on High Street is a late 17th century or early 18th century house that has been converted into a bank. It is constructed of red brick and features a steeply pitched tiled roof with four box dormers and a wood modillioned cornice. The building has two storeys and attics, with narrow end pilasters and a slight central projection. There are eight nearly flush sash windows with glazing bars set in broad frames, which are topped by flat arches made of brick; the first-floor windows are taller and have scalloped central arches. A central modern closed porch has a wide doorway with a cornice hood, while the ground floor windows on the right are modern facsimiles. Nos. 60 to 72 (even) and No. 72A form a group with this building.
