Description

No. 31 High Street is a red brick house dated 1749, featuring a tiled roof above a brick corbelled cornice. The building has two storeys, with a three-course band on the first floor and rusticated quoins. It includes three sash windows with glazing bars set in nearly flush frames, all under flat arches. The central door is located in a panelled reveal and has an architrave surround with a triple keyblock beneath a pediment supported by massive consoles. To the right, there is a modern bay window, while to the left, there is an early to mid 19th-century bay window. The side gables are finished with brick copings. This property is part of a group that includes Nos 31 to 37 (odd) and No. 35A.
