Description

The south range of farm buildings at Westbury Farm, located on the west side of Offley Luton Road in Great Offley, dates to the 17th and early 19th centuries. The buildings are timber-framed with brick sills and dark weatherboarding, and have steep slated roofs; the north barn’s roof is half-hipped. This irregular range extends generally east, connecting to the outbuildings of Westbury House and running to the road. It consists of an L-shaped barn at the north, followed by a stable to the south. Adjacent to this southern section is an early 19th century, three-bay cartshed, with a higher and deeper southern bay. A four-bay, open-fronted building, also with an open front, is connected to the rear corner of the cartshed, with its southern gable facing the road. The buildings are included on the list for their group value.
