Description

Biggin Almshouses are early 17th century almshouses constructed in four two-storey ranges surrounding a small open courtyard. Some sections have been rebuilt in more modern brickwork, while much of the upper storey is plastered. The building features old brickwork in the tall chimney stacks and has steep tiled roofs with some louvred dormers. In the courtyard, a cloister is created by a small Tuscan colonnade along one side. The windows have irregular fenestration, varying in size, with leaded lights and generally wooden mullions, and occasionally transoms.
