Description
The garden walls and steps located about 5 metres southeast of Hill House were designed in 1907 by Edgar Wood and J.H. Sellers. They are constructed of red brick with stone coping and steps. The walls, which are approximately one metre high, enclose a rectangular area measuring about 15 by 25 metres. The steps are arranged in two flights along the central axis leading to the house. Near the house, there are two lateral flights with concave treads that lead down to a circular landing featuring a segmental rear wall, with one flight having convex treads that lead into the garden. Away from the house, there are concave semi-circular steps. L-shaped arms extend to the sides, returning towards the house.
