Description

Nos 6 and 8 Melbourn Street are a pair of buildings that were formerly known as The White Horse Public House. They date from the 16th century or early 17th century and were refronted in 1926 using gault brick. The buildings have a combination of machine and old tiled roofing, featuring a projecting central gable. They stand two storeys tall. No 6 has a modern shopfront, while No 8 retains a 19th-century shopfront with slim Doric pilasters. There is a central carriageway, and the brickwork of No 6 is now painted. Nos 4 to 8 form a group.
