Description

The garden wall, gates, and gate piers at Bonningtons, located 100 meters north of the house, date from the 16th or early 17th century, with the central north gates likely added around 1725 for John Byshe. The wall is 3 meters high and constructed of red brick. It features tall red brick piers topped with moulded stone caps and carved urn finials. The wrought iron standards and side rails are adorned with spears, and there are double gates. These gates are believed to have been part of an axial approach to Bonningtons Hall from the north.
