Description

The North East Barn at Lower Farm, located 45 metres north-north-east of the house, is a barn dating from the late 17th century or early 18th century. It is a tall, three-bay structure that is timber-framed and weatherboarded, oriented north to south, with a steep gabled roof now covered in corrugated iron. The barn features opposed double doors in the central bay, unjowled posts, and quadrant braces supporting the tie beams. Inside, there is a clasped purlin roof with collars and angled queen struts for each truss, along with a heavy central post in the gable end. This barn forms a group with the North Barn.
