Description
The Taylor Monument, located in Hunsdon Churchyard, was erected in 1760. It is made of white limestone with a grey stone top slab. The monument is designed as a rectangular tomb chest featuring a heavily moulded base and top slab, with fluted and gadrooned recessed corners and raised and fielded moulded panels on each side. The north face of the monument bears an inscription dedicated to Elliot Taylor, Esq., dated 1760. This fine mid-18th century monument is still in the baroque style and holds special architectural interest. It is part of a group with the church.
