Description
The Campbell Monument is located in Hunsdon Churchyard at the angle of the chancel and the south chapel. This monument, dating from 1786, is made of white limestone and features a refined Neo-Classical design. It is oval in shape and rests on a low plinth with a torus moulding, topped by a heavy weathered oval cap stone. The monument includes a raised oval plaque with fine lettering that reads "IN MEMORY of WILLIAM CAMPBELL ESQ OB, AD, 1786 AE. 69." This 18th-century monument is of special architectural interest and is part of a group with the church.
