Description
Glebe Cottages, located on Church Lane in Much Hadham village, is a house that has been divided into two residences. This building dates back to the 17th century and features a thatched roof, plaster, and modern pargetting on a timber frame. The hipped roof slopes down to the ground floor on the northern end. It is a single-storey structure with two gabled attics that have fish scale tile roofs, with the surrounds cut back from the thatch.
On the ground floor, there are three light leaded casement windows in original oak frames, and the attics have similar windows but with two lights on the southern side. The northern elevation features two-light casements. There is also a weatherboarded rear extension at ground floor level. A diagonally set plastered chimneystack is positioned towards the northern end of the building. The cottages are very picturesque, situated on a corner site.
