Description
This is a barn and stable located 40 metres east of The Bury in Little Hadham, dating from the early 19th century. The barn is a tall, wide span, timber frame structure that is weatherboarded and features a gabled, low pitched slate roof. It runs north to south and has a lower east to west timber frame, weatherboarded stable range at its southern end, which includes stable doors on the north side. The barn consists of seven bays and has double doors centrally located on the west side. It has a king post roof supported by iron straps, and the framing is made of sawn softwood with large scantlings. Small wooden casement windows have been inserted into the structure. This well-preserved building is of interest and forms a group with The Bury, contributing to its overall historical value.
