New River Company Property Markers In Os Fields 41 And 44

The New River Company property markers, dating from around 1837 to 1856, are made of cast iron and are located in OS Fields 41 and 44 in Hertford. In OS Field 44, there is one 'Milestone' at NGR TL 3406 1353. The new cut to the River Lee on King's Meads was made around 1837, while the Gauge House was constructed in 1856. The property markers likely date from this period and do not appear to follow a specific pattern.
