Lodge, now farmhouse. c1870, with 1980s alterations. Architect George Devey for Robert Smith of Goldings. Red brick, Flemish bond, exposed studwork and roughcast plaster panels. Gabled old tiled roofs with ornamental pierced and fretted barge boards. EXTERIOR: single storey and attics, with projecting gabled wing at front with exposed studwork and mullioned window. C20 door below attic dormer. North-west end rebuilt underbuilding original jetty, and with C20 three-light casement windows on ground floor and in attic. One gabled casement dormer with scalloped barge boards front and rear of left-hand (north-west) attic room. Tall chimney at rear with external chimneybreast and 3 brick diagonally set flues with oversailing caps. INTERIOR: not inspected. Although altered, this building is representative, with the Goldings Lodge (qv), of Devey's smaller scale work in connection with the major commission of rebuilding Goldings mansion 1871-77 (qv).
