Description
The stables at Olive Farm, located 20 metres northwest of the house, date from the early 19th century, as indicated on the Tithe Map of 1842. This stable range is built of grey brick and features a hipped red tile roof, facing south. It has two boarded stable doors with fanlights, which are flanked by small high-set windows, each set beneath a yellow brick gauged arch. Each window contains many panes in a wooden frame, with 21 panes in each fanlight and 10/10 panes in each window. This impressive stable range forms the eastern wing of a symmetrical layout that includes a two-storey granary in the centre. The other parts of this historic group are listed under the Stanstead Abbots parish.
