Description
The Mill House is a 17th-century house located on Albury Road in Little Hadham-on-Ash. It is a long, two-storey building with four windows, constructed from timber framing and plaster, facing east. The house features a steep old red tile roof that is hipped at the south end. Originally a three-unit lobby entrance house, it has been extended at the south end, which has altered the brick plinths and converted a formerly external south gable chimney into a central chimney. The large square central chimney is a prominent feature. The front of the house displays panelled pargetting with various patterns, although this has been renewed. There is a small gabled plastered porch that includes a modern panelled door. The windows are 19th-century wooden casements, with both two-light and three-light designs. This house is recognized for its historic timber-framed construction.
