Description
No. 71 on High Street is an earlier 18th century house featuring a rainwater head dated 1730, which has the initials N above I S. The building is constructed from plum-coloured brick with header courses only, accented by red brick dressings. It stands three storeys tall beneath a low-pitched Welsh slate roof that has paired brackets at the eaves cornice. The property includes a 19th-century shop cornice and has 19th and 20th-century windows. The upper floors are adorned with four segmentally arched sash windows that have glazing bars. The first floor features tall key blocks with moulded cornices, while the second floor has a central pair of dummy windows. No. 71 is part of a group with Nos. 57 and 83 (odd) and No. 63A and 79A.
