Description

The Rose and Crown Public House occupies a prominent position on the High Street, dating primarily from the 18th century, with earlier records of an inn on the site from the 16th century. The front facade is constructed of red brick. The building is two storeys high, featuring four sash windows on the first floor, each with a flat arch. Three of these windows retain glazing bars. At ground level, there is a shop window on the right, a central doorway flanked by two canted bay windows that have cornices. The main entrance is through a six-panelled door, which comprises four fielded panels, two flush panels, a fanlight within an elliptically arched reveal, and a ribbed surround.
