Description

This building is a row of shops and offices on High Street, dating from 1888 and designed by George Low in a Jacobean style. It is constructed of red brick with stone dressings and has a Dutch gabled tiled roof. The building is three storeys high with a basement. The ground floor has shop windows. Upper floors feature stone mullioned sash windows, with two and three lights, set in chamfered reveals. There is a canted corner with a first-floor oriel window. The building is included on the list for its contribution to the group value of numbers 48 to 88 (even), numbers 94 to 100 (even), and a barn in the garden of numbers 62 and 64.
