Description

No. 14 is an early 19th-century house, possibly incorporating an older structure. It is constructed of plum brick with black headers, and has moulded buff brick dressings and terra-cotta mullions. The roof is steeply pitched with old red tiles, extending over a rear outshut. A later two-story brick rear extension is slate-covered. The main house is symmetrical, comprising two stories and an attic, with three windows facing west. A central gabled brick porch features a stucco plinth, a floor band, and overhanging verges supported by large Gothic brackets. Cable-moulded buff brick surrounds the two-light, ovolo-moulded windows with lattice cast iron casements on the first floor, and the three-light windows on the ground floor. A cable-moulded round arched entrance leads to the porch, which has narrow side windows. The doorway is chamfered yellow brick, and contains a coffered wooden door. Three gabled dormers are present.
