Description
39 Queensway is a two-storey L-shaped building dating from around 1830 to 1840. It features brick walls, with the front and return walls covered in stucco. The slate roof has three chimneys. The front elevation has three bays and includes a string course at the first-floor cill level. The sash windows are four panes wide and have shouldered and raised, moulded architraves. There are two stone and brick steps leading to the central doorway, which is framed by a timber and cast-iron trellis porch topped with a tented lead canopy. The doorway has a moulded architrave with angle blocks and features a 19th-century door with three moulded panels, the top panel being glazed. Inside, there is a particularly fine fire surround. The building also has single-storey rear extensions, some of which are later additions.
