Description

Yew Tree is a 17th and 18th century timber-framed and plastered cottage, featuring one storey and attics with a half-hipped thatched roof. It has a central ridge line rendered brick stack and an additional brick stack at the east end. There is a lean-to extension with a pantiled roof on the west end and two eyebrow dormers on the south elevation. Inside, the cottage has old plank doors, brick floors, and main ceiling beams that are chamfered and stopped. Originally, it was a two-bay 17th century cottage with an 18th century single bay extension to the east, constructed using re-used timber and featuring a newel-style staircase. The windows are a mix of side-hung small paned wooden casements and metal frames.
