Description
Rickling House is an 18th-century brick house with early 19th-century and later additions, which has been painted. The main section features a parapet with a raised brick band on the east front, while the early 19th-century addition extends to the south and west, showcasing two large bows on the south side. The main block is two storeys high with attics and has a five-window range of double-hung sashes with glazing bars set in flush cased frames. At the south end, there is a Tuscan portico supported by plain columns and topped with a cornice. The roof is tiled and includes three hipped dormers. The early 19th-century block also has a parapet with a brick dentilled cornice and is two storeys tall. A moulded brick band runs between the storeys. Each bow features a three-window range, and there is an additional three-window range on the west front, again with double-hung sashes and glazing bars in plain reveals. There are later additions at the north end of the building.
