Description

Wigmore Farm is a cottage dating from the 17th century, with alterations made in the 18th century. It is timber framed and rendered with a thatched half-hipped roof. An 18th-century extension features a red tile roof. The cottage is two storeys high, with a single storey and attic section. The windows are arranged irregularly and consist of 19th-century vertical sliding sash windows and casements. A small canted bay window with a hipped roof is present, along with a 20th-century porch covered with grey slate. Red brick chimney stacks are visible. Inside, parts of the original timber frame are exposed, incorporating reused timber from the late 15th and 16th centuries, including a moulded bridging joist. The cottage retains a 17th-century fireplace with a mantel beam.
