Description

This is a group of four tombstones located near the north aisle of the Church of the Holy Cross. They date from the 17th century and are the oldest known tombstones in the churchyard. Each tombstone features heavily carved headstones with large skull and crossbones, along with footstones. The inscriptions commemorate Henry Bigg, who died in 1687; Wignall Bigg, who died in 1679; E.B., who died in 1676; and John Bigg, who died in 1664.
