Description
59 High Street is a house that dates from the 18th century and possibly earlier. It has a timber-framed structure with a painted brick front and a gabled plain tile roof. There is a stack on the north gable and dentilled brick eaves. The first floor features a central blind recessed panel with a tripartite window on either side, which includes small-paned side-lights and 2-light casements in the center. On the ground floor, there is one bow window and one canted bay window, both with small-paned double-hung sashes. The central doorcase has a rusticated surround and a keystone, leading to a six-panel door with two glazed top panels. The entrance is accessed by three stone steps that have handrails and bootscrapers.
