Description
No. 13 Market Row is a house and shop dating from the early 19th century. It is constructed of brick, which is now painted, and features a slate roof with a red brick chimney. The building has a rectangular plan and stands three storeys tall with cellars.
The south-facing front elevation has three window ranges. On the ground floor, there is a central simple doorway with a 20th-century door and glazed panels of 2x4 panes. Flanking the doorway are early 20th-century rectangular bay shop windows supported by paired brackets, featuring glazing bars with configurations of 1x3, 5x3, and 1x3 panes.
On the first floor, there are sash windows with glazing bars, arranged in 3x4 panes, while the second floor has similar sash windows but with 3x3 panes. A chimney stack is located at the west end of the roof ridge. There are also two cellar openings to the pavement, which are now blocked.
