Description

The Coach and Horses Inn is a timber-framed house originating from the late 16th century, though it has undergone significant alterations in the 18th century and later. It features a cross wing at the south end and a small gable at the north end of the east front. In the 18th to 19th centuries, the building was refaced in brick, which is now painted. The inn is two storeys high and the main block is divided into five bays by pilasters. It has a six-window range with double-hung sashes that include glazing bars, set in shallow reveals. The south cross wing has a two-storey canted bay. The roof of the central part at the front is covered with slate, while the wings and the rear are tiled. The rear of the building is timber-framed and plastered, featuring a weather-boarded gabled wing.
