Description

Kings Cottage (South) is a 15th to 16th century timber-framed and plastered building located on Kings Lane in Elmdon. It features a cross wing at the east end, which jetties out on the upper storey. Adjacent to the cross wing is a modern addition. The building has one storey and attics, with modern casement windows. The roof is hipped and tiled, featuring three gabled dormers on the south front and two on the west side. The west front is faced in red brick and there are two central chimney stacks. Inside, there are several original features, including a cambered tie beam with a crown post, a doorway with moulded doorposts and head, and a 17th century panelled door.
