Description

Old Cottage is a two-storey building dating from around 1800, originally built as a pair of estate workers' cottages. It has a timber frame that is plastered and partially pargetted, featuring a central brick chimney and a gabled roof covered with plain tiles. The cottage has a central painted timber porch with a hipped roof made of slate, which includes elliptical arches and sunk spandrels, leading to the original pair of doors, although one door is now blocked. On the first floor, there is a symmetrically arranged pair of original leaded light casement windows, and on the ground floor, there is another pair of casements with timber 'gothick' painted heads.
