Description

Hortons is a 17th to 18th century timber-framed and plastered building located at right angles to High Street in Debden. Originally a range of cottages, it has been converted into a single tenement. The building has one storey and attics, featuring modern casement windows with lattice leaded lights and a modern porch. The roof is tiled and includes four gabled dormers along with an original square central chimney stack. On the south gable end, there is a modern plaque displaying the dates 1641 and 1949, along with the initials R.E. A modern wing extends to the east at the north end.
