Description
Camsix Farmhouse is a house dating from the 16th century and earlier, with additions from the 17th and 19th centuries, featuring a complex plan. It is mainly two storeys high and has plain red tiled roofs. The structure is timber framed with some plastered walls, but is primarily clad in vari-coloured brick. The ground floor has a window arrangement of one-to-one, while the first floor features three-to-one sliding sash windows with glazed margins and plain gauged arches. The main range is to the left, with a projecting crosswing outshot to the right. There is a glazed double door with a fluted surround, a moulded frieze, and a small pediment supported by carved brackets. The farmhouse has ornate pierced barge boards on the front and side gable ends, and it includes four red brick chimney stacks, two of which are original to the 16th century. It is said to contain remains of a Medieval open hall, possibly aisled.
