Description

Calthorpe's Farmhouse is a 15th-century hall house that is timber-framed and plastered. Although it has been renovated and significantly altered, much of the original frame still exists. The farmhouse was once surrounded by a moat, but only part of it remains today. It has two storeys and features modern casement windows. The roof is tiled and includes a central 17th-century square chimney stack with a rebuilt shaft. Inside, the farmhouse showcases exposed timber-framing, ceiling beams, and joists, while the roof contains smoke-blackened timbers.
