Description
Goddards Farmhouse is a late 16th century timber-framed and plastered house, featuring a red plain tile roof that is hipped at the north end. The building has two storeys and a long wall jetty. It includes a four-window range, with modern leaded lights set in original frames on the first floor and 19th century tripartite, double-hung, vertical sliding sash windows with glazing bars on the ground floor. The original red brick chimney stack has four attached diagonal shafts. A modern porch includes a repositioned inscription reading "I.M. 1602". Inside, much of the original frame is preserved, along with an original decorative fireplace that features a cornice, frieze, and vine ornament, as well as two original doors. At the rear, there is an early 17th century wing that retains some original detailing and a simple crown post roof.
