Description

The barn to the west of Parsonage Farmhouse is a large timber-framed and weather-boarded double aisled structure, partly built on a brick base. It has five bays and features a central gabled entrance bay on the north-east side. The construction style of the barn is reminiscent of other local buildings, suggesting a medieval origin. Inside, the tie beams are supported by double arched braces and a crown post, which is further reinforced with longitudinal arched braces. The outshot tie beams that extend to the aisles include diagonal braces. The roof is tiled, hipped at the north-west end and half hipped at the south-east end.
