Description
Priors Hall Farmhouse is a late 15th century and mid-16th century house that incorporates earlier remains and was faced externally in 1898. It is timber framed and plastered, with red brick cladding and late 19th century imitation exposed timber framing. The roof is covered with red plain tiles and the building has two storeys. There are gabled cross-wings at both the north and south ends, and the window arrangement consists of one, five, and one, featuring late 19th century casements. The farmhouse has 16th and late 19th century red brick chimney stacks. Inside, much of the timber frame is exposed, showcasing jowled storey posts, arch braced tie beams, and stop-chamfered bridging joists. There are numerous 16th and 18th century doors, along with a 16th century stone fireplace that includes smoke spandrels.
